Ramset 14TRHSS10 Rod Hangers
For P.A.T & Gas Tools
The Ramset 14TRHSS10 is an
assembly for ¼”-20 all thread, bridle rings and other ¼”-20 hardware that can
be installed with a powder actuated tool or a gas tool like the Ramset T4SS
tool into concrete. The hanger looks
like a z with a stamped thread on one side and the nail or pin on the
other.
Applications For The 14TRHSS10
The ¼-20 thread on the Ramset
14TRHSS10 rod hanger makes it useful in a few different trades. Electricians may use them for drop rods to
support EMT and BX cables. Low voltage
contractors find them useful not only for dropping ¼-20 rod when suspending j hooks,
but they also make for a super-fast bridle ring install. Really anyone who is looking for a fast way
to suspend ¼-20 all thread or hardware from concrete would find the Ramset 14TRHSS10
useful.
How Much Will The Rod Hanger
Hold?
In 4,000 PSI Concrete Ramset rates
the allowable tension or pullout with ¾” embedment a touch over 100 lbs. and
the shear at 210 lbs. I personally wouldn’t
feel super comfortable with that much weight on one anchor over my head but for
lighting and cabling installation you are probably only suspending a fraction
of that weight.
What Tools Can Use The Ramset
14TRHSS10 Rod HangerOne thing I really like about this
hanger is that it can be used with most powder actuated tools from Ramset,
Hilti, DeWalt & Powers as well as single shot gas tools. So, tools like the Ramset T4SS and the
Simpson G3 will install the tool. If you
have the Bosch Concrete battery nailer, the assembly will fire it as well. The 1” premium pin has a .300 diameter head,
and the shank is a step shank of .125/.150.
