The Ramset Trakfast has always lead the way and now the Ramset TF1200 has proven to be a real staple for many contractors. Fires the same pins and uses the same fuel but has an updated battery system and ships with 2 batteries. Pins for the Ramset Trakfast TF1200 include 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4" and 1-3/8". Each box of 1,000 pins include a fuel cell that contains more than enough fuel for the entire box. The Ramset TF1200 Trakfast tool is a great tool not only for shooting drywall track and z strip to concrete, block and steel, but longer pins are available for shooting on furring strips and waterproofing membrane. Add the optional lathing disc probe and it makes a great lathing tool. The PLY138 pin is made for fastening plywood to heavy gauge studs (it works great!). Tool kit comes with tool, 2 batteries, charger and carrying case. No licensing required.

About The Ramset Trakfast TF1200 The Ramset Trafkast TF1200 is a direct fastening tool for fastening to concrete, block and other masonry materials as well as steel. The tool operates just like a small internal combustion engine using a piston, spark and a fuel cell. The original purpose for the tool was to fasten drywall track to concrete but it is being used in a few other trades as well. The tool comes with 2 batteries, a charger and case. The pins are sold in 1,000 packs that include a fuel cell that should shoot the entire box of pins easily. Benefits Of The Ramset Trakfast TF1200 Tool The real benefit of the Trakfast TF1200 is found in production applications like drywall track and z strip to concrete, block and other masonry materials as well as steel. My favorite job site sale of the TF1200 was to a customer shooting up z strip to mount foam to a block wall. It took about ten shots to see that the tool was perfect for this job. The cost in place for each pin is also less expensive, especially when you see how fast the tool installs the pins. Unlike powder actuated tools the Trakfsat TF1200 tool requires no certification and can often be used on projects where PAT tools may be prohibited. Other Applications For The TF1200 In addition to drywall track, the TF1200 is being used in fastening metal lathe to concrete and block. Some guys are just shooting up the lathe with ¾” or 1” pins and some are using a lathing disc in addition to the pin to increase the bearing area. A magnetic probe is available to make the job easier. Fastening dimpled sheeting to the foundations for waterproofing is another application for the tool. Because the tool doesn’t overdrive like a PAT tool, you can use it on very green concrete without issues. Another use if for installing ¾” furring strips to concrete and block. Pins that have a collation that breaks away as the pin enters the wood are available in both 1-1/4” and 1-1/2” lengths. Finally, there is a 1-3/8” pin that is designed to fasten ¾” plywood to heavy gauge studs. I have seen it used, and it really does a great job. Who Is The Tool For? The Trakfast TF1200 is designed first and foremost for commercial drywall contractors. As mentioned above, water proofing contractors and anyone installing metal lathe would find the tool useful as well. The tool likes to be used regularly so if you don’t think you wouldn’t shoot the Trakfast every couple of weeks or so, a powder actuated tool may be a better choice.
