Ramset T4SS Singe Shot Tool
The Ramset T4SS is a single shot gas tool that is geared towards electrical and mechanical contractors but is also useful in many other trades as well. The tool is designed to fasten into concrete, block, masonry materials and even steel. The tool is not powder actuated and so it requires no licensing and may be able to use it in applications where powder actuated tools are prohibited. The kit includes two batteries, a charger and a case. Unlike other Ramset gas tools, the fasteners and fuel are sold separately.
What Fasteners Does The Ramset T4SS Tool Use?
The T4SS pins are a bit different than powder actuated nails. Typically, they will have a smaller shank. The tool fires ¾” top had pins and ¾” to 1” pins with a dome washer. Pre-Assembled fasteners for the tool include BX straps, EMT straps, Tie Wrap holders, Rod Holders, and ceiling clips.
Who Is The Ramset T4SS Tool Designed For?
The target trades for the T4SS tool are electrical, mechanical, low voltage and ceiling contractors. For the electrical trades, preassembled EMT clips are big mover as well as the standard ¾” and 1” pins that can be used to shoot up boxes. Ceiling clips are also nice for suspending light fixtures. The rod hangers are nice for lighter weight applications that can utilize all thread. Low voltage and structured cabling installers will find the tool useful for suspending ceiling grid wire for cable runs. The Tie Mount holder makes a very clean install for just a cable or two or look at our j hooks pre mounted to ceiling clips as well. Mechanical contractors find the pins with dome washer a nice fastener for hanger strap.
Over Head Work With The T4SS
The Ramset T4SS can be used on a pole tool for overhead work like supporting ceiling grid wires. While it is heavier than a powder actuated tool, for those jobs where you can’t use powder, it will do the job for you. Ramset has a system called the T4CUP that cradles the tool and then you can mount it on a 6’ pole tool and add 3’ extensions to that. The pole tool system is very solid and secure.
